MISSION STATEMENT
Bat City Review is an annual literary magazine with a national circulation. Sponsored by the English Department at the University of Texas at Austin, this entirely graduate student-run magazine publishes the best in contemporary short fiction and poetry, selecting work from established, emerging, and mid-career writers. The magazine also includes feature content relevant to the writing world, such as interviews with published writers, pieces of previously unpublished work from known writers, and articles concerning the industry.
Bat City Review aims to showcase the aesthetic of the graduate Creative Writing Programs at the University of Texas. In keeping with the goals of the Master’s program in Creative Writing, the Bat City Review staff aims to infuse each issue with a measured balance of scholarly insight and creative zeal, entertainment and intellectual stimulation.
