Submission Guidelines

Bat City Review is published annually. We try to give timely responses to submitted work. We also pride ourselves on being a green publication. We will consider manuscripts submitted in hard copy, but please help us reduce our reliance on paper by submitting your work electronically. We read submissions from June 1 to November 15, with responses sent primarily in late fall. Work which is submitted after this reading period will be held for consideration in the next year's publication.

Send all submissions as one ".doc" or ".pdf" file to the appropriate editor, including your cover letter in the body of the e-mail. Please name the file <YourName.doc>. Simultaneous submissions are alright, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Contributors receive a complimentary copy of the issue in which their work appears as compensation. Individual rights revert to authors upon publication. Before submitting, you may want to familiarize yourself with an issue of Bat City Review. SUBSCRIPTON PAGE

FICTION
Submit one long story or several shorter stories totaling up to 25 typed, double-spaced pages. Bat City Review generally does not publish genre fiction. Each issue is approximately half fiction, which amounts to six to eight stories, depending on length. Please address fiction submissions to Fiction Editor at fiction.batcityreview@gmail.com.

POETRY
Submit up to six poems in any style or form, preferably totaling no more than 10 pages. Please be sure to include all poems in the same ".pdf" or ".doc" file. Each issue is approximately half poetry, which amounts to 40-50 poems. Although an issue may contain one or two longer poems, most published poems do not exceed two pages. Please address poetry submissions to Poetry Editor at poetry.batcityreview@gmail.com.

ART
Bat City Review publishes both full-color and black-and-white art, including photography. The cover is generally full-color, and each issue contains approximately four to eight pieces. Submit electronic files at a minimum of 300 dpi, preferably in .tif or .jpeg format. Please send art submissions via CD or electronically to the Art Editor at art.batcityreview@gmail.com along with a brief bio and description of your work.
